In some cases, some users may encounter a black screen in Fallout 4 due to a non-functioning F4SE bug.

From there, find the Mod you wish to delete in your Library, select it, and use the Delete option. In other words, removing bits of the mod, instead of the entire mod, which could be anything. The file should open in the Notepad. Basically with a mod this big, it’s really about narrowing down the variables the same way you narrowed down the mod. Then try deleting all the NPCs, all the cell edits, and so on and so forth until it loads. Hell, you could even try deleting all the quests in the CK/Fo4edit and see if that fixes. With a mod this big, there are a ton of variables that go into every save, and time really isn’t that great of an indicator since it’s the actions that are what change in a save, from the quests you complete to the locations you visit, to the total amount of things your game has to remember (which would be a general memory thing). Or if it’s a general memory overload, see if the save loads with lower resolution settings.

Then maybe trying with all your items removed, and so on and so forth, to see if changing things within the mod alters the end result. You could try taking that save that CTDs, loading without TFTC and changing up the variables like moving it to a different location, saving, and then installing TFTC and try loading it up again. Right, I mean, it could be related to the mod since deactivating works, but it doesn’t help in terms of narrowing down the cause without more to go on. Good to log the issue the just in case others experience the same. Might just keep a continuous save just in case though.īut again, if you can narrow it down to some kind of variable unique to the saves that aren’t loading, I can test for that, but otherwise it’s like saying there might be a needle in the haystack. Of course, if everyone experienced this after prolonged playthroughs, then it’s a different story, I’d probably have to play with it for 50 hours straight or something just to verify, but that doesn’t appear to be the case. For example, if the problem exists only when loading from a specific location, (and again with only TFTC installed to eliminate the chance of a conflict), specific TFTC related items, etcetera So unless it’s caused by a specific behavior I can’t test it. Edit: (nvm, you have)Īnyways, this kind of general CTD thing is impossible to really replicate since everyone’s variables are different (think the infinite number of combinations on a chessboard). Have you tried with only TFTC installed? Might be a conflict with another mod. So I’m not sure if I just got hit with some major save corruption or something else. I did go back through all my saves until I finally found ones that would let me load the game with the mod installed, about 12 saves/4 hours back from my current save. I’ve tried changing the load order of the mod from bottom to top, and I’ve even tried loading it with only the game and dlc active and it’ll still cause the game to crash on those saves. With it not active, I’m able to load saves.

I went back until I found a save that would load, played for a bit, saved, and when I quit and then tried to play later I had the same issue.Īfter this I went through the process of deactivating all mods and starting to reactivate them and I found that with TftC activated it would cause the crash on loading a save. But today I noticed that when I tried to load my most recent save, it would start loading and then just crash to desktop. Everything seemed fine, did a couple quests, met a few NPCS, carried on about my business. I’ve had this installed on my current playthrough for a while now.
